7R has started work on Hub Nowa Huta, a major logistics and technology project in Kraków that will become the largest urban logistics complex in Europe. The development is being built in the city’s Nowa Huta district and will ultimately provide about 230,000 square meters of modern technical and production space.
The project is being positioned not just as a warehouse park, but as a new industrial ecosystem for Kraków’s eastern districts. Even before construction began, 7R had already secured leases for tens of thousands of square meters.
Hub Nowa Huta is being developed within the Ruszcza Logistics and Industrial Centre, close to national road 79 and the planned S7 expressway junction, having strong transport access while also placing it near the city center and a skilled labor pool.
Built for automation
The project is designed for modern logistics operators, manufacturers and technology companies that need more than simple storage. The layout will support automation, clear operational flows and day-to-day efficiency, while also reducing operating costs for tenants.
It will include intelligent building management systems, photovoltaic installations, heat-recovery ventilation, CO₂ sensors and air-source heat pumps. It is also being developed to BREEAM Excellent standards.
Environmental features are a major part of the plan. The site will include land revitalization, more than 2,200 biodiversity-supporting plants, around 10 hectares of afforestation, wildflower meadows, insect hotels and rain gardens designed to manage water naturally.
Why it matters for Kraków
For Kraków, the project is a sign that industrial investment is moving deeper into the city’s east side, as local officials say the project strengthens the economic potential of the area and supports the transformation of former post-industrial land into a new business base.
7R argues that Małopolska has not traditionally been seen as a first-choice logistics market, with total warehouse stock in the region standing at just about 1.2 million square meters.
