Żabka continued to expand at speed in the first quarter of 2026, opening 435 new stores across Poland and Romania while lifting sales to end customers by 12% year on year to PLN 7.4 billion. The company also improved profitability, as adjusted EBITDA rose 13.1% to PLN 674 million.

The retail group ended March with 12,750 stores, up 11.3% from a year earlier, including 204 stores in Romania under the Froo brand. The pace of expansion keeps Żabka on track to open more than 1,300 new outlets in full-year 2026. New franchisee intake stayed strong, with 2,742 new franchisees onboarded over the past 12 months.

Romania expansion and digital push

Romania is becoming a more visible part of the growth story. Żabka opened 32 new stores there in Q1 under the Froo brand, bringing the Romanian network to 204 outlets by the end of March.

Beyond store openings, the group continues to scale its new growth engines, including digital businesses and ready-meal offers. Sales in that segment rose 25.7% to PLN 439 million, while more than 40 vending machines were added and Delio crossed the 1 million orders mark.
